Question: For the UD dimensions, the “None” member is not utilized and instead an equivalent member (e.g., UD1#No_CC, UD2#NOFUNC) has been created. What are the design considerations of this?

Answer

This is quite common and sometimes a necessary design, especially if using “stacked” dimensions where the None member can’t be used in multiple places without “doubling” the values.  In addition, properties on the UD None members cannot  be changed and are all “grayed out”…thus, it may be preferable to use another member instead in the event you need to add calculations or change other properties of the member.
