As stated in the Platform v8 overview, Business Rules may require changes to ensure compatibility with Platform v8’s .NET6 development framework and this includes Business Rules used in MarketPlace. As such, OneStream will be releasing solution version updates where Business Rule changes were required. Only the most recent version of the solution will be updated to be compatible with Platform v8. There are some solutions which will not be updated because they are either already compatible or they will be moved to OpenPlace or Sunset in 2024. The overview provided in the MarketPlace will indicate whether the solution is compatible with Platform v8. See the attachments for lists of solutions impacted, those which are not, and those that are being Sunset or moved to OpenPlace.

A common question we receive from Partners or Self-Hosted Customers is "What's the difference beween Cloud and Self-Hosted v8 Upgrades?"
There are two primary differences:
1. Modern Technology offerings specific to Cloud customers
World class Cloud Operations requires modern and robust solutions for Authentication and Data Integration.
With v8 (and beyond), OneStream has introduced modern technology approaches which are now our standard offerings. As part of the v8 upgrade process, all cloud customers will transition to OneStream IdentityServer (OIS) Authentication. See the OIS post in this Community Group for all the great benefits of this technology. OneStream is now providing bi-directional integration with data sources existing within a customer's network with Smart Integration Connector (SIC). All customers using VPN in pre-v8 platform releases will transition to SIC. You can access videos, courses, and documentaion is this SIC Community Group post.
OIS and SIC are technology solutions for cloud customers only and do not impact self-hosted customer solutions.
2. New v8+ Upgrade process
OneStream has invested in new roles, new tools, and new processes to ensure cloud customers have a successful transition to Platform v8+. This is an example of OneStream's dedication to customer success and our commitment to delivering a world-class SaaS experience for our customers.
The v8+ Upgrade process has two phases - Preparation and Migration. The Preparation phase is managed by Customer Success and lays out the playbook for v8+ upgrade activities. Cloud customers are provisioned net-new v8 Migration instances, representing snapshots of their current pre-v8 instances, to perform these upgrade activities. A OneStream Cutover process merges activity from the Active and Migration instances to complete the v8+ Upgrade process.
Self-hosted customers will continue to autonomously perform their Platform upgrades, leveraging software installation files available on the Solution Exchange. The Upgrade Guide provides step-by-step instrutions for self-hosted installations. Self-Hosted customers are encouraged to review Platform v8+ with their Customer Success Manager, and they may participate in twice-weekly v8 Upgrade Office Hours to assist with any preparation activities. All Support ticket entries marked as 'V8+ Upgrade' will be monitored by our v8 SWAT Team (subject matter experts).
The impact of .NET6 - requiring upgrades to designated MarketPlace Solutions and resolution of incompatible Business Rules is consistent for both Self-Hosted and Cloud Customers.
I hope that addresses the question of "What's the difference beween Cloud and Self-Hosted v8 Upgrades?" If you have additional questions, you may reply to this post. We also encourage you review the v8+ FAQ.
