Thing Register Plan Data

We have loaded the data into Thing Register, and we need to have the same data in Plan data table. We dont need any calculations or allocations to be done on the Register data. Example: If register data is having 700 records in plan data also we need 700 records.

How to Achieve this?

Thanks & Regards,

I totally agree, if you don't need the calculation capabilities of Think Planning, it might be simpler to just build your own custom table. Embed it in a dashboard, if manual changes are needed and load it to the cube if you're ready. There is a lot of overhead with TP, building and maintaining custom tables is quite simple. There is a market place solution helping you with it: Table Data Manager

Hi Madesh

Why populating the plan table, just change the Thing Planning data source to load the data from the register table instead of the plan table and populate the cube directly without any allocation.

In case this won't work because you need other data to be calculated in addition to the loaded register.

You need to create an allocation rule to move the data from on table to the other. Because the account is a mayor Thing Planning object it can't be overwritten in the plan section (all other dimensions can).

So in this case, you need:

An allocation rule with line items for every account to pass the data over

A plan to execute the allocation and map the columns to the dimensions.

An execution to run it all

I hope this helps and regards

Hi Christian,

Thanks for your suggestion.

Actually we dont need any calculations to be done on the register data. So can we change the datasource to  point to the register table instead of plan data?
Whether this will work?

Why even bring Specialty Solutions into the picture, you can create a custom table using TDM and then make that as your data source.
