Hi, wondering if anyone has created something like an "Administrator-lite" role that gives the user an ability to do 90% of actions in the tool, but stay away from things like fx, mapping changes, and data loads. I really just want these users to create cube views and reports only without giving them keys to everything else. Would this be solved by adding a new group, or any other recommendations on how to solve? Thank you!
I think you have 3 options:
1) Consider the out-of-the-box "Administer Application" role on App tab > Security Roles page.
2) Grant them the above role but then perhaps use exclusion groups to exclude them from a few things like ManageFXRates, ManageTransformationRules, etc from the Application Security Roles page shown below.
3) Set up your own group that only grants things here you want them to be able to do so instead of using #1 and then excluding items in #2.
They key to #2 and #3 is that you have to set up security groups and place them on application security roles and application user interface roles to exclude or add them to your admin-lite user.
