Extensible dimensionality for different scenarios Account dimension

Hello, everyone,

Could you please advise if we will need for Budget scenario more detailed accounts, than for Actual scenario, am I right that it will be solved by the following way:

  1.     Create second Accounts dimension
  2.     Apply this new Account dimension to Budget scenario on tab Cube Dimensions in Cube

Could you please also advise how to copy existing Account dimension members into new Account dimension (as the first step before members updating for Budget scenario)?

  • If your Budget accounts are more detailed than what you use for Actuals, then you will extend below the account dim that you use for Actuals.  It may appear somewhat like the following:

So assume that you have assigned "GLAccount" dim to the Actual scenario type on the cube, then you extend below it with "BudgetAccount" which is a lower level of detail.  Add any detailed accounts you want for Budget to the "BudgetAccount" dim and then assign that to the Budget scenario type on the cube.

If you search for extensibility on OS Navigator or One Community there should be several webinars explaining how to set up extensible dimensionality.
