Fiscal Year Change

Hello,

I am wondering if there is any way to change a fiscal year once we have been using the application for quite sometime (several years.)

Our current Fiscal year is 2025 so all the data is being imported into year 2025, but we now need to adjust our fiscal year one year back.  So everything in 2025 becomes 2024.

Is this possible?  Or what options might I think about? Would I need to setup and start using a new scenario?

Any ideas, comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi, if it really just is about moving the data as described, using a new scenario (same scenario type) seems most reasonable. Presumably, all one needs to do in that case is to adjust the copy of the openings so that it copies from the prior scenarios and (technically) "prior year".

Thanks for the suggestion.  I've thought about this, but we have a lot of years of history that would have to be copied over as well.  They want everything in the same scenario.

How many years that the users wish to copy are we talking about? And what is the alternative currently to using a new scenario?

First I would say just adjust your reports manually. Probably faster than migrating all the data. But I assume you discussed that already in lengthy detail.
Then, why not use a new scenario and e.g. a dynamic UD8 member for reporting that displays data from the history scenario prior to 2024 and current scenario data from the switch onwards? No copy needed and only a single dynamic UD8 reporting member that needs to be implemented and that the users need to use for reports that span across this "switch".
Copying is also possible if one really wants to invest time into that. Maybe with Cube Data Manager from the OneStream Openplace that does not take that long. Or use a hybrid (not dynamic) scenario for that to combine the data into a single scenario for reporting.

Hello! I am curious if you were able to successfully execute this change. Could you let me know the outcome? We are trying to do something similar. Thank you!

      Hi there!

We have not been able to come up with a solution for this yet.  I'm thinking as the new suggestion below the only way may be a new scenario, but not sure if that's the route we will take at this point.
