Onestream Certification : Lead architect or Core application architect ?

Hello everyone,

I recently attempted to register for a OneStream certification exam and noticed that both the Lead Architect and Core Application Architect certifications are available. Could you please clarify which one is required for my consulting firm to qualify for a higher-level partnership with OneStream?

Additionally, I would appreciate any insights into the main differences between these two certifications, as well as the passing score (percentage of correct answers) for each.

Finally, if you have already taken one of these exams, I would be grateful if you could share your experience.

Thank you in advance!

The Lead Architect OCP exam is being retired in mid-Jan 2026.  The Core Platform Architect OCP is the newly released go forward version of the exam.  Those having the Lead Architect OCP certification will need to take an ILT class or retake the exam when their certifications come up for renewal to convert to the new OCP exam.

So, if you have already been preparing for and committed to the Lead Architect exam, you can take that exam until mid-Jan.  If you are just starting to prepare for the exam, you should prepare for the Core Platform Architect exam.

Having taken the Lead Architect OCP exam in the past, the content you need to prepare for is clearly described.  It is wise to have depth across the entire product.  I don't recall seeing anything indicating what the minimum passing score is, and you only receive a pass or fail result.  I will be taking the ILT class to convert my OCP certification, as I am less than keen on retaking the certification exam - read into that as you wish.
