Hi rhankey thanks for your answer.
The issue is that we're preparing a solution to be deployed within Solution exchange and it depends on a connection to a system clients have. The connector br's won't work with SIC if I develop it using a direct connection, right?
Do you have any tips on how to validate this when creating the br's?

I am not sure I understand clearly enough what you are trying to do. A connector typically references a pre-defined connection. The connection defines the details of how to get to the source system, such as passing through the SIC or not. The connector shouldn't need to know anything about whether there is an SIC or not, unless it needs to be invoking remote logic or drivers you have placed over on the SIC. Unless you are doing something peculiar, I shouldn't think you need remote logic or drivers to access a datalake. Or put differently, so long there have been no firewalls preventing access, I've not needed SIC to access a datalake from OS.
