Application Reports & Parcel Service

Hi all,

We have an interest in being able to provide the Map Changes Audit Report (out of the standard Application Reports dashboard) to a group of users via the Parcel Service function.

I've been able to narrow down the application report itself to an "RPT" component but not sure where to go from there.

Has anyone out there managed to set this up and if so, would you mind providing a high level view of the steps involved?

Thanks very much in advance,

Kim

Here are steps you can use to deliver the report through Parcel Service.

    1. use Application > Books to create a new xfDoc.pdfBook.  Add an 'Item to Change Parameters' and then a 'Report' object.
    2. For the Transformation Rule Change Audit report there are 5 parameters that need set.  Three of these I set in the book and the other two I set in the Parcel Service when shipping the package.
    3. In my book, the Change Parameters step is set as shown below: Parameter Values = ChangeType_RPTA=(All),ProfileIds_TransRules_RPTA=[00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000],TransformationChangesUsers_RPTA=(All)

    4.  In the book, after the Change Parameters, there will be a Report.  here is how that is defined if you want to run the TransformationRuleChangeHistory.

NOTE: the book I have in the screenshot above is running multiple application reports so I have multiple items to change parameters prior to each report that is being run.

    5. Go to Parcel Service > Manage Distribution Lists.  Create a new Distribution list and add the users you want to receive the email containing the report.

    6. In Parcel Service go to the Manage Packages page.  In the Package Details section add a new row.  Give the package a name, delivery type, select the distribution list you created, fill in Email Title and an Email Message if you want one.  Then click Save.

    7. Once you have saved the package then click on that package and in the bottom left pane insert a row to add content to the package.  Here you will point to the book you created above.

    8.  With the package selected, go to the Supplied Parameters in the top right quadrant.  Add two rows and select the parameters from the drop down as shown in my screenshot below.  Set the Literal Value based on the time period you want to run the report for.  Every time you want to run/ship the report you can update the values here rather than opening the book to update them.

Finally, from the Parcel Service home page you can select the Package and click Ship Package.

Note, this works as described above for Application Reports (RPTA) but with the introduction of the new Navigation Center in 8.5 the objects and parameters are all different. I am still trying to figure out the automation using the new Navigation Center dashboard.  Navigation Center is the new dashboard that combines Application Reports, Security Audit Reports, Narrative Reporting, and System Reports into one dashboard.

    Hope this helps.
