Nesting Cube View Groups or Profiles
Hi all,
Does anyone out there know if it's possible to 'nest' Cube View Groups or Cube View Profiles?
i.e. can I somehow create this type of a view? We have SO many profiles and Cube View Groups and it's just getting more and more difficult for users to find what they need in OnePlace. Was thinking it would be so great to be able to create a Profile and add Profiles to that Profile (same with Cube View Groups) but I don't seem to be able to do that at least on the frontend.
If not possible, does anyone agree that this should be something for IdeaStream? I feel like we can't be the only client looking for ways to better organize our Cube View structures in OnePlace for our users

You cannot nest CV Groups > other CV Groups nor CV Profiles into other CV Profiles.
But you can nest multiple CV Groups into a single CV Profile. A CV profile is just a collection of one (or more) CV Groups. And you can nest CV Groups into multiple CV profiles by recycling the groups and adding to profiles over and over.
So you could create a Canada Regional Monthly Reports and a US Regional Monthly Reports profiles and nest the various groups into each of those.
Alternatively, you could consider presenting cube views via individual WF profiles by embedding the cube view profile into the 'Cube View Profile Name' Property on a WF.
Lastly, you may be able to use a custom dashboard or Narrative Reporting to create the groups in the manner in which you want to present them to users. Narrative Reporting is available in the MarketPlace download for Standard Application Reports. NR will allow you to create groups of reports and display them in a specific way to users.
Thanks. We already do have multiple CV groups in our Profiles - we're looking for something more organized and detailed. I would like to see a Profile be able to contain multiple Profiles so that users can easily find what they need. But I do like your idea of a dashboard and will pass that on as I think it might be the most feasible solution for our current requirements.
