It sounds as if you are converting your Quick View to XFGetCells format. Once you do that, you will see the #REFRESH (which I don't believe appears in a Quick View), and your Quick View definition is deleted. You should see a warning telling you this will happen.
Best thing to do is to make a copy of your QV before converting. In this way, you keep your original as a backup.
