download dimensions

has anyone tried to download dimension data? For example the entity dimension i want to extract in a relatively decent format ? and ideas on how?

Did you try the grid view? This is the most basic way.
You can right-click and save this as CSV which you can then paste into Excel (using the Text to Columns function). This will give you all the (selected) details, except a hierarchical formatting, but the order is correct.
Most implementation / consulting partners have their own tools to extract / view / edit metadata in a hierarchical view format. Some individuals also created their own tools.
Keep an eye out for this on the OpenPlace, something might be released in the future.
