Thanks for posting this and the references to the other Tech Talks on FDX. I'm really looking for readable (not watchable) documentation preferably in PDF format on Workspace Assemblies with examples. What's the best non-video resource for that?

Please take a look at our Design and Reference guide and search on "Workspace Assemblies": Workspace Assemblies.
Right now we're building up the number of examples on how to use them so more information will be coming, but this is a good starting point.
There is now an Open Place Solution called "Development Toolkit", which (among other things) contains an example - more are on the way with the next release of that solution.
There are also the materials from a few Wave sessions held this year, which are available to anyone who registered (let me know if you don't know where they are). My workshop in particular provided a comprehensive and fairly realistic example.
The documentation in this space will see some updates before the end of the year, and likely a significant addition with the first release of next year.
