SAP to OneStream integration

What would be the ideal integration method to fetch approx. 100000 records in a single import  between OS and SAP(ECC and S4 HANA)? Any steps required to achieve the same would be highly appreciated.

  • The best method to use and WHICH method to use are not always one and the same, as there are quite a few factors that control which method CAN be used in the first place.

The methods available to get data from SAP are:
    - Using RFC (by leveraging ERPConnect)
    - Using ODBC (for S/4 Hana only)
    - Using webservices (by leveraging SAPs own PI layer or any third party middleware)
    - Exporting flat files.

You would need to know which of these methods are available first and foremost, and once you know that, you will need to find out how that particular method can be accessed (is it available as a public accesspoint or behind firewalls?)

For 100.000 records either method mentioned above could be leveraged.

And, except for the Webservice and potentially the File based approach, you are very likely going to need to use the Smart Integration Connector as well to facilitate the integration requirements.
