FX Data Feed - Actual Rates - Automate from different Source like ECB or OAND
Hi, looking for experience and OS counterparts for support to automate ( plugging it directly in OneStream from source) FX Data Feed. Concern currency is USD. Which source are used - OANDA, Eurpean central bank or other sources? How does this work to get actual closing Rate, YTD Rate and for information purpose monthly average rate in the system? Actually we are loading every month from ECB into csv, working in excel - convert from Euro into USD for each currency, closing, YTD and average and than loading - set cells - into OneStream. Have a request to change the currency of a parent Entity and want to know what the implications are and the best way to go about it.

History of course would retranslate so if they don't want that to happen, what's the recommended approach? Create an alternate hierarchy with the new parent in the new currency? Add the new parent above the old? Any suggestions or thoughts?!

Cube Properties Best Practices!
Given a situation, determine the correct properties for the Cube. Certification Exam. Workflow The most common setting Is Top Level Cube for Workflow (Main Cube) = True Project requirements dictate Suffixes for varying Workflow by Scenario Type Assigning Suffix by Scenario Type allows the same Entity to be assigned to different Workflows in different Workflow Cube Root by Scenario Type The best practice is to configure a suffix early on for common Scenario Types regardless of whether they get used. NOTE: These settings cannot be updated once data is loaded to a specific Scenario Type. Leaving blank is defining the suffix as well. Calculation Consolidation and Translation Algorithm Type Most common setting = Standard Settings based on design decisions on how consolidation and translation to be customized. Recommendation – Only change from Standard to Custom on sporadic cases. Elimination and Translation logic should be done either on the Member using O#Elimination or C#Elimination or using Translate as part of the Finance Business Rule and assigning it to Cube. Use Standard Using Business Rules for FX Rates for Translation Algorithm Type in the above case. Calculation Properties: Business Rules Cube Properties: FX Rates Cube Properties: Set Default Currency FX Rates for the Cube. The most common settings for the Cube are shown in the screenshot. Default Currency is dependent on the currency of the application. NOTE: Triangulation is dependent on default currency Best Practice – Control the FX Rates by Scenario. FX Rates Page Constantly Freezing
OneStream community, I have been experiencing a weird bug lately... when scrolling too quickly in the FX Rates page, OneStream freezes up. Sometimes, going to my computer Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) and ending the program closes OneStream, while other times that does not even work and I have to restart my computer. Are other experiences this issue/bug?

Auto translate Currencies option on Entity.
HI All, Good morning. Could you please share the documentation on 'Auto translate Currencies option' in entity properties. Also, how it works in below mentioned scenario. Scenario: I have parent A and Children B both are tagged with Default currency 'CAD', but I want to translate Base and parent to USD in this case can I setAuto translate Currencies option to USD to convert data to USD without changing Parent A default currency to USD. How is the FX Rates CSV column "Has Data" used?
Does anyone know how the "Has Data" field in an FX Rates CSV file is actually being used? The Design and Reference Guide lists it as one of the columns in the file. I've only seen it extracted with a value of Yes in this column. What is its actual use? Is it necessary for Loading FX Rates? What does "No" mean, for that matter what does "Yes" mean?
