OneStream EmployeeCopying/Pasting from Excel to Grid View of a Dimension (Description)
Hi all:
In our current model, we have 100-200 new dimension members every month with actuals from our source system. Part of the maintenance is the manual add of descriptions for all these base members. I am doing it via a grid view in the dimension library but OS only allows me to copy paste (from Excel) one at a time. Is there a way to copy/paste multiple at once using the grid view? Or is there a better way? I'm hoping I can leverage Excel + OS front end rather than having to find a solution via the Marketplace.

I would suggest using metadata builder, it's the fastest way. It's an addin that allows you to copy/paste dimension names/descriptions and create xml code to upload back into OneStream.

You need to login to Marketplace, it literally shows up on the front page:
https://xfmarketplace.com/OneStreamWeb/OneStreamXF.aspx
Or you can type the name in the search field and it comes up right away also
