I am currently searching the community for answers to what seems to be a similar problem. Mostly when the file is on OneDrive and autosaving. Excel is "Not Responding" and the user thinks their file is not updating. Yet the Activity log indicates otherwise.

I would expect to see this as "Canceled by xxx" as that is what the user said they did.
