I agree! When you see something greyed out you assume (of course assuming is problematic 🙂 ) one does not have access. You would not think to take the extra step and uncheck the box to gain access.
Could be an idea worth posting in IdeaStream to change how that behaves or appears......
Sorry mine is greyed out and it will not allow me to untick any boxes.
therefore I can not change anything. Can you advise on this please?

If you are not in the native "Administrators" group you will want to have someone check the below two security group settings.
These two below also impact one's ability to edit general and environmental settings from the system configuration page. You need to be in whatever group is assigned to these two or ensure they both read "Administrators" and that you are a native admin.
If that does not work I would suggest a support case.
