Default Home Page for Users & OS Logo is an Actionable Event
Thought this was cool and wanted to share so others have the recipe. If you build a default landing Home Page for users upon login, this is where the XML sits for that Dashboard. Then, (I was thrilled) to discover this) once you have a default Dashboard set for users, the OneStream logo is now a clickable button! It returns you to your Home Page Dashboard.2.8KViews12likes5CommentsExcell Add-Ins for Task Manager
Hello to everyone. Does anyone know how to build in Excel Add-ins for Task Manager? Our OneStream version is 8.2.2.16127? Guidance for this version provides the step-by-step instructions how to set up Add-ins for Word and PowerPoint, but not for Excel Add-ins. Our Task Manager version is PV800 SV100. If to be very specific, we are looking for the opportunity to install Excel Add-Ins to link the preparation status from excel file to particular task in Task Manager. For example, if we have the excel file somewhere outside OneStream (on Sharepoint), and when the work done inside this file, we can push built-in "Complete" button in this file. The completion status from this file automatically forces the change in the preparation status in Task Manager for this task, which is linked to this file through the action type functionality in Task Manager. Does it sound real? Could it be potentially implemented from technical point of view? Thank you in advance for any ideas. Hello, we are about to start our work on next year budget and we already know that, following a recent restructuration, there will be a lot of pot swaps between departments (e.g. Licence costs used to sit in the department using the software but will now all sit under IT). Some of the them will be just moving a cost center and its history from one department to the next so that will be easy. Our issue is when we do a "pot swap" that moves part of a cost center. In this case we will have a disconnect when we compare actual and forecast unless we restate actual (i.e. also move the cost in actual). My question is on how best to tag/flag the "pot swap" in the actual data so that in reporting we can do like of like comparison (i.e. with past data restated) but also keep the original data. I have 2 potentials solutions: Flag the restatement using an UD: do the restatement of past periods under a specific UD so that we have the ability to see past periods with or without pot swap adjustments Use attributes: I think attributes would work but we have not used attributes in the past so not sure whether it is the best way Does anyone have the same issue and came up with an alternative solution? or has a view on the above options? Many thanks!19Views2likes2CommentsTask Manager: Holidays
If a holiday falls within the duration of a closing period, is there a way to shift the Work Day (WD) due dates of the tasks for that Entity/Work Flow? For example, we have a Mexican Entity with a WD due date on WD 4. In May, there was a holiday on WD 1 (May 1st). In our business, the Mexican Entity's due date to submit financials would be extended to WD 5 because of the holiday. But since the due date did not fall on the actual holiday, the WorkDay due date in Task Manager still says WD4. Is there a work around for this other than manipulating the holidays and creating a "dummy holiday" on WD4 so that the due date will extend the extra day to WD5?896Views2likes1CommentPerformance impact of having all currencies in an app ?
Hi Community! Are there any solid performance issues / consideration of having ALL currencies from OneStream listed as Currency Filter of the Application Property, instead of selecting only the ones we need ? Regards,Solved59Views1like4CommentsFilter Members by Security
So we have the GetBaseMembers method (or the GetChildren, or the GetDescendant or event the GetMember) that would return instances of the Member class. What is not clear (at least to me) is how I could filter returned members based on security. I could set Nobody in all the member Security's fields of a specific member, but it keeps on being returned by (for instance) the GetBaseMembers. I'm wondering how I could get only visible members, applying a filter that won't return them from the call. Also, it would be nice to know, given a member, if it can be seen, read or written. Two ways to get the same result, for different scopes. Thanks FabioG63Views1like3CommentsExternal provider sign in / pop-up window v8
Hi, at the moment we are migrating OS from v6 to v8. The logon procedure in V6 and V8 is SSO, while login in V6 on there is a small pop-up window to choose an account for OS. This pop-up automatically closes after the choice. In V8 the button External provider sign in is not there, instead via logon it opens a full window that does not close automatically. is there are solution to get this full web-page closed in v8? thanks,80Views1like4Comments
