Basic Question about BI Viewer and Cube View MD data source Column Expression
I have a Cube View with three Account dimension columns - Net_Rev, Std_Cost, and a CVC calculated division column to calculate Std_Margin (Std_Cost/Net_Rev). Rows are a UD dimension representing the Product. In my Dashboard, I have a Cube View MD Data Adapter using this Cube View as the data. When I add a BI Viewer Pivot Grid, I want to display the same three columns - Net_Rev, Std_Cost, and the calculated column. I see CalcScript in the Pivot Grid's Data Source dimensions. How do I use it in the Pivot Grid to display the calculation that the Cube View was doing for that third column? I thought I might reference it in the Value filter along with the two Accounts, but it doesn't appear as a column in the Pivot Grid.122Views0likes5CommentsHow to Create an End-User Editable Text Box in BI Viewer Accessible From OnePlace?
I’m trying to create a text box component that can be added to a BI Viewer and easily updated by end users directly in OnePlace. The goal is for the users to be able to edit the text without having to modify anything in the underlying application or configuration. Here’s what I’ve attempted so far: Created a string parameter intended to store the text. Tried adding a dashboard parameter control (such as a text box) linked to that parameter. Embedded it into the BI Viewer view. However, this approach didn’t yield the desired result. The text either doesn’t update as expected, or isn’t visible to the user in the way I intended. Has anyone successfully implemented a user-editable text box that can be directly manipulated by end users in OnePlace and reflected in a BI Viewer component? Any guidance, best practices, or examples would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.15Views0likes0CommentsBi Designer
Working with BI Designer and cannot get the Time order in place sequentially. The Cube View data source is pulling the correct time, data, alongside the POV for workflow. The WF filter builder is in order. However, cannot get the two months (Oct and Nov) in the appropriate place. Tried to sort and use Start/End Dates too in settings for WF Time Filter: T#WF, T#WFPrior1, T#WFPrior2, T#WFPrior3, T#WFPrior4, T#WFPrior5, T#WFPrior6, T#WFPrior7, T#WFPrior8, T#WFPrior9, T#WFPrior10, T#WFPrior11, T#WFPrior12, T#WFPrior13 Has anyone experienced this before?Solved184Views0likes2CommentsBi Viewer not rendering charts when it refer in Dashboard (V8)

Hi I have a problem with dril Down in BI Viewer. Part of our UD1 is as follows: BU1000 - EGMONT GROUP BU1500 - Other Business line BU6000 - HOLDING AND SERVICE BU6100 - HOLDING COMPANIES I have done the following: 1: Cubeview Cubeview exportet to excel gives this Please notice that top level BU1500 do not aggregate the data. And this is correct, totally 1.7. 2: Dataadapter: Pivot in BI Viewer looks like this: My drill down in Charts i BI viewer looks as follows: Start: Total 5.1 Drill first level: Total 5.1 Drill second level: Total 3.4 The red box should not be there Drill third level: Total 1.7 The red box should not be there Drill forth level: Entity level (sums up to 1.7) My questions are as follows, hopefully answering one solves all… 1: I can see in the pivot tablet has the amounts three times. (1.7+1.7+1.7=5.1) where it should be 1.7. This is also giving errors in the charts. How can I avoid this? 2: In the charts I have some ”Ghost” totals as they have one bar for the specification and one bar as a total. How can I avoid this. (the red markings) 3: If a subdivision has 5 sub-subdivisions then entity specifications is 5 click. If another subdivision only has 3 sub-subdivisions, the I still need to click 5 times. Any way to avoid this. (Yes this is icing on the cake)Solved874Views0likes11CommentsBI Viewer Dashboard not displaying for Specific User
Hi Community, We are encountering an issue where the BI Viewer dashboard is not displaying for a specific user, while it works perfectly for all other users. Interestingly, when we add the data adapter used in the BI Viewer to a grid view, the dashboard displays correctly. However, it fails to display when using the BI Viewer component. Can anyone provide any insights into what might be causing this issue? Thanks260Views0likes2CommentsDrillback to stage slow after upgrade and switching to SIC connector
We upgraded to 8.2.2 last month and switched our data connector to the SIC connector. Since upgrading all our drilldown cube views (to stage data) have been loading slow. Most of them used to load instantaneously. Now some take 5-15 minutes to load. Has anyone had this issue? I have an open ticket with support. They ran indexing and that helped but just a bit. Thanks in advance.192Views0likes1CommentBI Designer
Hello, Is there a simple way to apply multiple data sources into one BI Blend Dashboard Graph? For example, a bar graph that compares Actual sales to PY. I am running a SQL script to return data for my data adapters. I've added them as components to my BI Viewer, and can select one or the other under the "Data Source" drop down. I just can't manage to get both sets of data into one chart. I know this is feasible but think I am missing something. Thanks!311Views0likes2Comments
