Is it possible to wrap text in a column header and change its width within a Cube View?
Answer Text wrapping is not currently available within a Cube View itself. This functionality is offered in Excel or within a grid view component showing next to the data explorer then set word wrapping on the grid view within a dashboard. Question (cont) The example below is for an operating expense that I want to be filtered using a text property of “HP” (a specific business line). I thought the following would work, but it is still pulling in the total company business line, not just a total of the “HP” UD3 members. A#Marketing:U1#TotalBU:U2#Top:U3#CustomerGroup_0002.Base.Where(Text1 contains HP):Name(Market) I don’t need an expansion of the customers (UD3) but a total of the relevant members. Answer Using CVR Math in a cubeview row will not work in this situation. CVR Math Example A Dashboard XFBR String will be needed to aggregate the members with the Text property to produce a total. The system admin wants it to be part of their regular workflow.
Answer Yes. A lot of clients use the XFSetFxRate function in an excel file to load FX Rates. This excel file could be opened within a spreadsheet component and assigned to a form or embedded on a dashboard. This form/dashboard can then be assigned to a workflow step. •Hint: Use Workflow Name "Workspace" to be able to select a dashboard for that step. Answer They cannot be deleted as long as there are audit records that go along with the Cube View even if the data has been cleared. To clear this you would be required to run a reset scenario, however this clears out all workflows and data. Typically, deprecated workflows are placed under a deprecated parent workflow and the security changed so that only admins can see these deprecated workflows. Or would beyond this list be considered customized? Would like to have an e-mail that informs the user that an item is past due.
Answer Following is a business rule and an example output of ourability to send an email to alllate tasks owners for a given time period. The customer wanted to have an automated process that sends a summary email to all late tasks owners that describes the late tasks the user owns includingthe task status, due date, days past due, current preparer/approver name, and task commentary. This gives the management team convenientvisibility into what tasks are late for the current period of close and also makes the users more accountable for their late tasks. Steps to Implement: 1. Upload attached rule to your application - The rule is titled 'UTM_EmailLateTasksHelper'. 2. Create a security group called "TaskManagerCC". Assign users to this group that you would like to CC on the email. This security group can only contain users. This solution also assumes that each user license has an email address identified in the user settings. 3. Note, the business rule works off the global time period to determine what period to query late tasks for. Be sure to update the global time to the current period of close. 4. Confirm your application has the 'OneStreamEmail' email connection configured on the app server config file in order to facilitate the email sending. 5. Create a data management step - Execute business rule to execute the rule imported in step 1. Then create a DM sequence and assign the step. 6. You can now execute the DM job manually to fire off the late tasks email. 7. Create a PowerShell script to execute the OS DM job and then use Windows Task Scheduler to schedule the automation of this task (daily, monthly, etc.)1.1KViews3likes0CommentsQuestion: Is there any documentation to help in discussing calculated/derived values showing grey/black values?
Answer •Generally, derived values are dependent upon Scenario No Data zero view settings or overrides to the Account No Data Zero View Settings which dictate how the system interprets the lack of data on an intersection basis. •In cases like the below, data that doesn’t change YTD based on the no data zero view settings will appear as grey. •You can set a text color on the Cubeview (i.eblack) so all values show in a single colour, which would override the default grey/black. •You can also use a UD8 dynamic rule to hide derived values in future periods, if necessary. Answer Example: I have grid in my BI Viewer and it is referencing a cube view that uses literal parameters to determine the prior scenario. In order to have the scenario show up in the columns, I created a calculated field with an expression that hard codes the prior scenario. Can you provide an example of how to pass in this parameter? I’ve played around with various options within the Component Properties section, but cannot seem to find the correct setup. A simple example of adding a parameter is shown here, see BI Viewer Design guide for more information on the settings: Source: Office Hours 2020-08-13 Product Management876Views3likes0Comments
