Cube View DatePicker, Time Zone and Custom Calculate
We're working on a solution, where users can enter and view a date through a Cube View using the Cell Type Date. The challenge is how OneStream handles date's (datetime) with time-zones. When a date is saved to the backend, it's converted to UTC time-zone. The Date component in the Cube View is also Time-Zone aware, so that it uses the local time of the user, to convert back from the backend UTC to local-time. The challenge with this is 2 fold: 1) Assuming we would calculate a rent for a given period. The user, based in CET time-zone, enters 2022-1-15 using the Gridview. This date is converted to 2022-1-14 as UTC (2022-1-14 23:00:00). Using a Custom Calculate method to calculate the rent from start (2022-1-15), now adds one day more, as the server time is UTC. (don't mention Daylight Saving Zone) 2) If another user, based in US Central, is reviewing data in the same Grid View (and same POV), this user will see a wrong date, as the server UTC date, is converted to this user's local time Is there a way to specify in the Cube View, that when using the Date/DateTime picker, that the component should ignore time-zones? Or are there other usable solutions for this issue? Cheers5.3KViews1like11CommentsOrgByperiod/ Restructuration d'entités
hello team, new in OS , i need help if someone works on this tool. i am wondering if there is an equivalence of the hfm functionality "org by period" in OS ? is it possible in OS to manage the structure on a “Time sensitive” basis, and to have effective dates for changes ? i am awarethat it's possible to do the changes of % of ownership or even change of type of ownership (full Conso, equity...) by period but am wondering if it will be possible if a change of the parent of the entity and having two hierarchies existing on the same cube/app thank you in advanceSolved4.5KViews0likes9Commentsprevent users to work on wrong periods
Hi, is there an easy way toprevent users to work on wrong periods? It seems that all periods in Onestream are open for data load. This request is mostly related to statutory consolidation. My concern is that some end user can start working of Jul 2042 (instead of July 2022) after realizing after a week that he is working on the wrong period. I know that in Hyperion the admin had to "initialize" the data unit setting the "Review level" as "First pass". If status is not"First pass" nobody can work. Instead in Cognos Controller the same feature is achieved with the "Submission" creation, where the consolidator selects Scenario and Period to open and which forms are assigned to the specified submission. If Cognos submission is not setobody can work. I am wondering if there a standard feature in Onestream to lock all periods and then enable them month by month? Hi everyone, Is it possible to call the Rebuild function in VBA ? The goal is to update a Quick View by typing in a new period to avoid going into Member Filter and change the period manually (workbook contains multiple QV (ext. I know that Time Functions can be used so users can update through Cube View but the client insists on building a macro.3.7KViews0likes5Comments24 Month PLP Dataset - Import to cube
Hello All, We have setup People Planning for 24 periods. We need to import the data into a cube across 2 years/24 months. Wondering the best approach. We have flagged Allow Loads After Workflow View Year as "True". We have tried using "Range" in the Workflow Tracking Frequency. This approach works, but the fact that we can't change time periods in the Scenario, creates some monthly and annual process management issues. Anybody use an alternative approach? Thanks, Scott3KViews0likes9Comments13 Period time dimension vs UD
Hello everyone, We have a client that uses 13 period time dimension in their current system that we are moving to onestream at the moment. They use period 13 to load TB' post adjustments even input disclosures currently. We first wanted to use a UD dimension to capture it but I'm more and more leaning towards having custom 13 period time dimension to cater that. I know that is something that needs to be set up during application creation so I'm guessing we need a new application. Is that something to be requested from OneStream to set up? I also would love to hear if any of you had a similar case and how you handled it.3KViews1like8CommentsMy client has all sorts for FX rate types attached to different scenarios (Actual, Budget, AOC, LE1, LE2, LE3...). I would expect I can do these copied within OneStream, I just cannot find where, or how, I can accomplish this task. Help is greatly appreciated. Hi all, I have built out my cube view that shows headcount change for 2019 M12, I want to be able to capture the ‘Ending Balance Headcount’ for 2020 M1 as its ‘Begin Balance’. Will a rule be the way to go in order to achieve this? Unsure on where to go from here. Thank you.Solved2.1KViews0likes1Comment
