Cube View DatePicker, Time Zone and Custom Calculate
We're working on a solution, where users can enter and view a date through a Cube View using the Cell Type Date. The challenge is how OneStream handles date's (datetime) with time-zones. When a date is saved to the backend, it's converted to UTC time-zone. The Date component in the Cube View is also Time-Zone aware, so that it uses the local time of the user, to convert back from the backend UTC to local-time. The challenge with this is 2 fold: 1) Assuming we would calculate a rent for a given period. The user, based in CET time-zone, enters 2022-1-15 using the Gridview. This date is converted to 2022-1-14 as UTC (2022-1-14 23:00:00). Using a Custom Calculate method to calculate the rent from start (2022-1-15), now adds one day more, as the server time is UTC. (don't mention Daylight Saving Zone) 2) If another user, based in US Central, is reviewing data in the same Grid View (and same POV), this user will see a wrong date, as the server UTC date, is converted to this user's local time Is there a way to specify in the Cube View, that when using the Date/DateTime picker, that the component should ignore time-zones? Or are there other usable solutions for this issue? Cheers5.4KViews1like11CommentsWorkflow Security settings
Hi, I need to know if I can put security to individual entities assigned to WF so that whoever has access to certain entities can only load/transform/validate for those entities and not all the assigned entities of the WF. Or,creating individual WF per entity is the way to go.1.8KViews1like3CommentsResult table of Cube View MD is empty
Hello All, I have a Cube View that I want to use as data source for a BI VIewer object. When I execute this CV, I can see data: When I use this (basic) CV as MD in data adapter, it is empty. I checked the set up steps in the doc and I can't see what I could have missed. Would you have any ideas why the result table doesn't return values that I can see in my Cube View ? Thanks for your help MatthieuSolved3.3KViews0likes5CommentsValues backing off next month if no activity found in subsequent months
Hi Everyone, We need to understand the scenario settings due to which we can avoid the data backing off (shown as derived, not stored value) for the next month when we enter a data in a periodic view. After digging up the community, we found some posts redirecting to change No Data Zero View for the scenario to YTD but that still doesn't solve this behavior. Is there any particular in the application/scenario where I can change to show no activity months as "0"? Thanks! JackLacavaSolved411Views0likes2CommentsIC Elimination and USD Overrides
Our Currency Override formula in the Flow Dim (EndBal_Input) has been working great, no issues. We have been using IC Elim's on all of our Balance Sheet accounts except Equity/Investments. All of our E/I accounts are Currency overrides. We turned this IC on in January and are now noticing that the Elim amt is the FX calc'ed value and not the Currency Override value. Thus not zeroing out at O#:Top. Not sure how to adjust the O#Elimination member at the parent level for IC members. Any suggestions on how I might go about fixing. Not sure if I need to include a fourmla in the Flow Dim to handle different Origins or if it is handled elsewhere. Just looking for ideas to think about. In my example below you can see the Elim amount is using the Closing FX rate and not the Fixed USD amt or rate. Clarke2.5KViews0likes4CommentsAuto Translation Property having junk values
We are having typical issue with Metadata, it's a single currency application. The Auto Translation for Currencies property is Blank and doesn't have any value. But when I check System diagnostics I notice that for all Entities(~12k) this property is having value and there is a warning. If I go into the property and see there is no value in the Stored Value, but "Remove Stored Item" property is enabled which is saying that there is some hidden value. I had to manually goto each and every member and click on "Remove Stored Item" property to get rid of the value. Reloading the metadata with this property set to BLANK is also not helping solve the issue. How can this be resolved without manually updating each Entity. Any thoughts anyone ?Solved3.4KViews0likes4CommentsData Migration Strategy : demerging one application to two new applications
Hi team , My client is demerging . So their current app has to be split into two new apps based on Entity structure. What is the usual data migration strategy that is used ? My question is more focused on Data Migration : There are 4 sets of data : 1. Data Corresponding to Origin Import : 2. Data Corresponding to Forms 3. Data Corresponding to AdjInput ( i.e Journals Data) ( Along with Journal Information ) - Do we need to pass the journals again to the new Application or is there a way to export ( can be done using DM but any other way ) and importing them back in ? 4. Annotations What is the best practices around it ? What are the things that one should take care about ? Regards, SS254Views0likes1CommentData Cell Access Security - we don´t get it
Hello, we need to setup Data Cell Access Security based on our UD1 structure. UD1 defines our Business Unit structure and we need so setup security security on this. I spent days on this but I don´t get it to work the way we need it. We have consolidation users on different levels in the UD1 hierarchy: So some users are on to (group level - they need access on all data) some on divisional level (they should see all data within their division, so divisional level and all business units below) but the need to be restricted to their own division and are not allowed to see data of another dvision or business units which are not part of their division. some on business unit level (they need so see all data within their business unit but not from other business units) and finally entity users: the only should have access to data on their entity/entities. How can I setup this so that it´sconvenient to maintain and all security need get met? Regards Martin804Views0likes4Comments
