OneStream Excel Enhancement Requests
Hello, Our Organization is currently going through a Planning implementation of OneStream. We have provided a list of enhancement requests to OneStream that we feel would significantly improve the products reporting capabilities. Here is a list of the enhancement requests submitted. I am posting with hope that other customers would also benefit from these enhancements and reach out to OneStream directly to also request this functionality! You can also like ("Kudos") this post. 1. Drill Down within XFGetCell Function. (This was something that came up a lot at Splash when discussing with other customers) 2. Retain excel formatting when refreshing quick views 3. Ability to utilize the member description to pull quick views or XF functions (Today you can only user member name) 4. “Hardcode” the default Quick View POV when creating a new quick view (Users are required to retype their defaults when sending a report to a user otherwise the data could change depending on the other users POV settings) 5. Option for a Default “Member Expansion” that will only pull parent members (Subtotals). This would be helpful when drilling or creating reports7.7KViews7likes11CommentsBehaviour between Top Level cube and Cube References
Dear community, I have a very simple use case with my base entity set in "finance entities" top level cube, and the group entity set in the "finance group" cube. Everything in the "finance entities" cube works fine and as expected. However, no data roll out to the top level cube, even though I have tries to consolidate, force consolidate ... The 'Cube Refence' has been set so that the dimension for local entities is coming from the "finance entities" cube. When using a cube view on the Top level cube for base-level entity and group-level entity, I can only see that the cells related to group-level entity are all in red. --> What am I missing so that data from base level entity can roll-out to parent entity in the top level cube ? Top Level cube references : Top level cube entity dimension : Reference cube entity dimension : Local Entity dimension: Group entity dimension : Many thanks,6.7KViews0likes8CommentsSQL Table Editor connecting to External Database not working
Hi, Can anyone explain why External connection is not working in SQL Table Editor ? The same connection is working for Data Adapter. Screenshot for Data Adapter and it’s working. Screenshot for SQL Table Editor and it’s not working. I tried giving the schema name as well but no luck. We are on version 6.4. Hi there, For a client i want to do a detailed analysis of the data (numbers) in the database. We want to investigate the percentage of numbers < 0.01. However, when i use the Data records i see the following: But in this view i cannot filter on values in the Value1, Value2 etc. columns. In the binary table itself i see as contents of the CellAmounts the following: When i convert this to a string i see a binary code that i cannot read. Does anybody know how to write the select statement in SQL to see the Value fields in the CellAmounts column so i can filter on them? Thanks in advance.5.8KViews1like14CommentsAggregation for the Periods to Year to Date in Forecast
I am having an issue with cash flow report taking last month's (ie Dec 2022) value to aggregating it to the year to date (ie 2022), ignoring other months (... Oct, Nov, ). Does the account type get affected by the view dimension, whether periodic or YTD? Or this might be affected by other settings in the dimension. The scenario settings for the Forecast for Input View for Adjustment are periodic, similar to No Data Zero View for Adjustments and Nonadjustments.Solved4.6KViews0likes10CommentsSpecialty Cubes
Hello, I am looking to connect with folks who have implemented specialty cubes to manage data for sales, HR, Projects, Treasury, etc. We are exploring the capability of building a digital transformation roadmap using a cube approach, similar to how Essbase can be used. We are considering using the register to utilize larger data sets and other functionalities. Would love to hear your experiences. Thanks! This seems like an extremely simple question ... I'm barely just learning OneStream, and I must be overlooking something obvious. I copied our production application to an application named Debug so I can try to investigate a problem without affecting our production app. But after I log off of the application and try to log on into the newly created application, what steps are needed to add the new application to the pulldown list of applications? When I review the Task Activity report, I can confirm that the task to create a new application named Debug completed, and there are no errors associated with that task. And if I open the page for History Detail, the line shows that I successfully created the new application named Debug. I've completely quit OneStream (I'm running the Windows version of the app) and re-run it to try to refresh the pulldown list. If I log back on to the Production instance, I can return to the cloud administration tools and select the option to Manage Applications. The Debug application appears in the pulldown for Source Application. Is there a step somewhere to specify which applications my userID can access? ... And while I'm thinking of it. when I'm done using this Debug application, what is the process to delete it? I don't see an option on the cloud administration tools to delete an application.4.1KViews0likes5CommentsConstant Fx Rate Analysis
What is the best way to design and implement constant fx rate analysis? We want to apply a budget rate to all months for actual/fc/budget. Entities are loaded in local currency and I thought it would be simple to use an entity hierarchy in which I'd put the custom rates at the parent level so during consolidation it would use the set fx rates. Unfortunately this is not working as I had hoped, I'm not seeing a difference at the parent level between the "real" hierarchy and the constant rate hierarchy. Thank you.Solved3.3KViews0likes1Comment24 Month PLP Dataset - Import to cube
Hello All, We have setup People Planning for 24 periods. We need to import the data into a cube across 2 years/24 months. Wondering the best approach. We have flagged Allow Loads After Workflow View Year as "True". We have tried using "Range" in the Workflow Tracking Frequency. This approach works, but the fact that we can't change time periods in the Scenario, creates some monthly and annual process management issues. Anybody use an alternative approach?
