Has anyone found a sustainable solution to this issue?
We’re facing similar challenges with archived applications growing significantly in size over the years. While keeping historical versions is essential for audit and compliance purposes, the storage impact is becoming a real concern.
Has anyone implemented an efficient archiving strategy?
Some food for thought that we have shared with our clients:
- OneStream hosted applications can be readily cloned by an authorised user through Cloud Admin Tool (CAT). This helps readily create snapshot applications for development and retention purposes where ready access is required.
- Through OneStream Support portal, request a bacpac of the app you require then store that on your network in a secure location with proper labelling
- Expand your OneStream storage capacity and keep cloning / retaining as required.
#2 is handy since it won't consume space in your OneStream environment. Downside is to require OneStream support to restore to view plus, as your environment upgrades over time, it may render the back up inoperable.
In all instances, be sure to take note of the purpose of each of the clones to avoid accidental purge.
