Formatting when Row/Col Sharing

I am practicing building reports via row sharing. I am sharing rows from my income statement into a new report, and I wanted to reformat the header background color, but my change does not work and when I run the report the formatting matches that of my income statement. Is there a way around this?

That's a great question! When you're sharing rows as described, the formatting (including header background color) is typically inherited from the original report.

To change the header background color in the new report, you may need to adjust the formatting specifically for that report instead of relying on the shared settings.

Here are a few things to try:

    • Make sure you're editing the formatting in the new report
    • Try using the Rows & Columns slider in the Cube view to select the header and use the Formatting tab to adjust.
    • It may be that the original formatting is overriding your changes; set the new background color in the new report's settings.
    • Check your substitution variables to make sure nothing is interfering.
