Disabling confirmation rules without deleting them

As the subject line writes, is it possible to disable/hide confirmation rules without deleting them?  I'm revising our current budget work flow and changing the confirmation rules required.  I'd like...

In addition to what has been mentioned above, you could also create a Rules group such as "Archive" to (manually) move the individual rules to you wish to archive. As long as this group is not in any Rules Profile, it does not check anything. If you wish to sort the rules in your archive you could use prefixes for each rule, or create different archives (Archive_BUD, Archive_ACT,...).
