Question: When using a Data Management (DM) copy sequence, I’m having difficulty copying data from a YTD scenario into a periodic scenario. It works fine with a business rule, but when using a DM sequence, it creates derived numbers in later months.

• Generally, the recommendation would be to use business rules rather than Data Management copy sequences.

Business rules:

• Give you more flexibility/choice in terms of what type of data is copied (e.g., you may need to be selective regarding stored or derived data)
• Provide less limitations around cell security restrictions
