Question: Within a Cube View, how can the subtotal of a member filter based on UD3 text value be presented?

Answer

• There are two possible solutions:
• Use UD Attribute members
• Data is not loaded directly to an Attribute member.  Instead, its results are derived from references to properties of other members, such as Names, Descriptions or Text fields
• The Design and Reference Guide (Cubes chapter) contains more information. There is also a Partner webcast titled “User Defined Attribute members” on Academy which covers this functionality.
• Use a Business Rule to calculate the desired results
