Troubleshooting the Schedules

The following has been taken from the Tax Provision Blueprint "Instruction Guide" starting at page 406.

The attached Word document describes the common issues that you may encounter with Schedules / Forms not rendering correctly. There are some key areas in the Tax Provision Blueprint setup that drive the majority of the Schedule POV’s. Each schedule has a link to a KB article.

These key areas are:

  • Entity attributes
    • UD1 Constraint
    • UD7 Constraint
    • UD1 Default
    • Text 7 (check the spelling / make sure a comma is used as a delimiter) – check the Scenario type
    • Text 8 (all base and parent entities must have a Text 8 for the Tax rules to execute) – check the Scenario Type

  • UD1 attributes
    • Text 1 (all base JD’s must have a Text 1)
    • Text 2 (base level National JD when you are doing National group filing)

  • WF attributes
    • Text 1 (required for a National Group Filer, Local Group Filer and WF Filers)
    • Text 2 (position 1 is required, position 2 is sometimes required)
    • Text 3 (position 1, 2 and 3 are required) – make sure a comma is used as a delimiter
    • These text fields must be set at the “Tax” scenario type at both the Forms base level workflow and at the base level parent workflow for the TXP_Actual and TXP_ActualRTP scenarios. For the current year Forecast scenarios, we recommend using “ScenarioType8” as the scenario type. For multi-year Forecast scenarios, we have placed-marked “Scenariotype7” as the scenario type.

We walk you through the following schedules (use the links for each schedule):

The POV combo boxes (drop down lists) that are displayed in the toolbar for most schedules, run in a specific order. The combo boxes execute from left to right. You must first select an Entity. That will then refresh and update the list box for the UD1 Jurisdiction. Once you select a UD1 jurisdiction, the combo box for the UD7 Group Filing will be refreshed as well as the label for the UD4 Tax Type will be refreshed. Lastly, select a Group Filing entity.

  • The Entity drives the UD1 Jurisdiction.
  • The UD1 Jurisdiction then drives both the UD7 Group Filing and the UD4 Tax Type.
    • Do not mix different country entities in a Workflow Profile. Each WF Profile is country specific.
    • Group Filing countries must have a UD7 country hierarchy.
    • UD7 base members and UD7 parent country members must be the same name/label/member as what is in the Entity dimension. BR’s take the base UD7 member and uses it as the base level entity member.
