Transitioning from Lead Architect to Core Platform Architect
2 MIN READ Have you heard? The OCP - Lead Architect certification is being replaced by the OCP – Core Platform Architect certification. What is the OCP – Core Platform Architect exam? The OCP – Core Platform Architect exam is based on OneStream version 8.x and will be replacing the existing OCP – Lead Architect exam in October. Like the Lead Architect exam, this new exam is comprised of both multiple-choice and performance-based items. When will the new exam be available? OCP – Core Platform Architect BETA exam – August 25, 2025 OCP – Core Platform Architect GA exam – Late October, 2025 When will the Lead Architect Exam Retire? Typically, OneStream Certification exams will be retired 60 calendar days following the release of a new version. I have an existing OCP – Lead Architect certification. What action must I take? Certification Status Required Action I have a valid, non-expired OCP - Lead Architect certification Complete the newly released Design Decisions Instructor-led course (you MUST complete this training BEFORE your certification expires or you will be required to take the new exam) Or Pass the new OCP – Core Platform Architect exam How do I know when my OCP – Lead Architect certification expires? To locate the expiration date of an existing OneStream certification, log into CertMetrics, expand the “Certifications” menu in the left navigation pane and select “Status”. My OCP - Lead Architect certification has expired Pass the new OCP – Core Platform Architect exam What if I have been preparing for the OCP – Lead Architect exam, and am NOT yet certified? Candidates that have been preparing for the Lead Architect will still be able to take the exam for 60 calendar days after the release of the OCP – Core Platform Architect exam.
