Question: When migrating data from Dev to Prod, can we retain origin detail if we extract data with a Data Management job and then reimport that data into the Prod app?

Answer

• You will lose the origin detail when you export data using a DM job and then try to reload that data through stage.
• Everything in the file will be loaded into the import member.
• Even if you could extract everything by origin and then load via the relevant origin channel, you would lose the original audit detail, as well as the ability to drill back to the source data.
