OneStream Excel Enhancement Requests
Hello, Our Organization is currently going through a Planning implementation of OneStream. We have provided a list of enhancement requests to OneStream that we feel would significantly improve the products reporting capabilities. Here is a list of the enhancement requests submitted. I am posting with hope that other customers would also benefit from these enhancements and reach out to OneStream directly to also request this functionality! You can also like ("Kudos") this post. 1. Drill Down within XFGetCell Function. (This was something that came up a lot at Splash when discussing with other customers) 2. Retain excel formatting when refreshing quick views 3. Ability to utilize the member description to pull quick views or XF functions (Today you can only user member name) 4. “Hardcode” the default Quick View POV when creating a new quick view (Users are required to retype their defaults when sending a report to a user otherwise the data could change depending on the other users POV settings) 5. Option for a Default “Member Expansion” that will only pull parent members (Subtotals). This would be helpful when drilling or creating reports
Option to disable the "Load" button and only show "Load and Process" on the WF step.
Having the option to disable the "Load" button and only show "Load and Process" on the WF step would help when we add a rule in the process step that needs to be run every time the user uploads a file. This would reduce the risk of a user clicking Load and not Process, which is important for our operational planning teams to avoid data being missed or incorrect because a calculation or rule was not completed.
Write Data to Dynamic Dimensions
I've been going through some training material on DCS for a use case that requires frequent changes in a dimension (UD3 - SKU). Because of this, I'm considering dynamic dimensions where the SKU can be written and generated via code. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything that supports writing data from a cube view. I've only found material that says the "Dynamic Cube" needs to have the share and edit feature turned on. Question - Is it even possible to create a cube, use a dynamic dimension as one of its dimensions, write allocation calcs to allocate data to SKU level and be able to modify that data using cube views? If not, what is the best way to handle this use case without having to create another non-dynamic SKU dimension.
