Annotation - Comments
Hello, The customer would like to explain a dollar variance between Budget and Actual by leveraging 4 columns of data to explain the difference displayed: enter a dollar amount, a combo box to select a type of UD1 data timing (Perm/Temp) and another combo box to select UD8 driver type (Audit Change/Scope Change) with the last column for a comment. The comment input cell has the following: V#Annotation with UD3&UD5 based upon the CV POV selection and the remaining UD's set to None; V#Annotation:UD1#None:UD8#None. For reporting purposes the customer would like to associate the commentary entered with the Combo Box selections made for UD1 and UD8. V#Annotation:UD1#Perm:UD8#AuditChange What is the best method to do this? I have tried the following: api.Data.Calculate("U8#AuditChange:V#Annotation:U1#Perm":O#Import" _ & " = U8#None:V#Annotation:U1#None:O#Top")5.2KViews0likes4CommentsProblem: Unable to Submit Comments within the #V Dimension due to Intersection Being Read-Only
Hello, As my title indicates, I am trying to create comment columns within my CV's that utilize the V#Annotation and V#VarianceExplanation members and am stuck at a roadblock with this error: Error saving data attachment. The intersection is read-only. Is this something handled within security? Any help is appreciated. EDIT:I have heard that one possibility is that this is not a base level member that I want to make a comment to. Could that be the reason why? And if that is the case, is there a way to get around this?Solved3.8KViews0likes6CommentsAnnotation - Cell comments, attachments in Cubeview and Quickview
When a comment is added to a cell or file is attached to a cell, there is not mark on that cell for other users to know about the comment or attachment. Is there a way to highlight the cell with tick mark or anything else for the user to realize there is a comment? When view annotation is used to add the comment, it is not obvious to the user that there is a comment on a specific cell as there is not red tick on the cell. Dear Community, It is very easy for a user to add comments on a given cell, using data attachments : However, what are the reporting possibilities for such comments ? Could we use them in dashboard, for instance to be shown as footnote of a dashboard ? Or could these be used as footnotes in pixel-perfect pdf documents generated from a cube view ? Many thanks,2.6KViews0likes3CommentsAnnotations Printed to PDF
I have created a Flux Analysis Cube View with Annotations/Comments. Everything is working as expected until I export to PDF. The Annotations/Comments are not printing to PDF, but columns themselves are. The interesting things is that the comments are there when I export to excel. Any ideas why this is happening and is there something I need to do to get the comments to print to PDF. Thanks!2.1KViews0likes2CommentsSecurity on Annotations/Audit Comments/Variance Explanations
Hi, we would like to build a report with two columns with comments Annotations/AuditComments/VarianceExplanations). Each column needs to be filled in by a different team. The two teams need to be able to read each other comments. I am using UD3 to distinguish these two type of comments (as the requirements ask for variance explanation from more than 4 teams) The problem I am running into is that the varianceexplanaiton column is open for everyone to edit as long as that person has access to that cubeview. I have not found a way to make one column read-only and the other read-and-write depending on the security group. The "Can Modify Data" setting in the cube view does not seem to do anything. Anyone who can help on this?1.8KViews0likes5CommentsHow do we get comments from a cubeview visualized in the pdf report?
We have cubeviews were we have enabled "Include Cell Attachment Status" and we want all comments printed on the PDF report at the end with reference to the POV, is that possible and if yes how do we do it? We have used Annotation Detail as we what our users to be able to have answers questions in a new Annotation Detail. Any advice highly appreciated! // Katarina1.6KViews0likes1CommentIs there a View dimension member could display both text and number?
Hi all, I was not able to find a detailed guidance on how/when to use different view dimension members, so I would like to seek for advice here. In a cube view, I have a member formula which return either a text or number based on different conditional. For example, if conditional A is met, return a calculated value (sum of Account A and Account B), else return "Not applicable" text. I notice that we can utilize V#Annotation to display the text, but then it cannot display the number. So, I would like to know if there is a view member to allow display of both number and text. Thank you so much!Solved1.3KViews0likes5CommentsBehavior Origin on Annotaton
For planning I have 3 rows with the same account Origin; Beforeadj (Aggregation) Import (Shows seeded actuals) Forms (Input) Scenario's in the columns and a separate column we have comments. (Annotation) We overwrite the Import and Beforeadj with forms. Means it will show 3x times the same text in the row. Anybody knows how to bypass the origin behavior? We basically want to post on all the 3 rows separate comments.1.3KViews0likes1Comment
