Default location saving excel files, not a temp folder
Hi, I noticed that when exporting a workflow/cubeview to excel the default save location of that file is C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Temp\OneStream. The local IT group policy is to empty that folder upon rebooting the computer. This path is not setup in my own/local excel options. Is there a way to change this folder location to for example 'downloads'?Tips to Designate Dev vs Prod
SOURCE: ONESTREAM CHAMPIONS Does anyone have any tips or best practices to make it clearly visible when an admin is in Production vs. Development? Obviously next to user name we can see Production or Development, but other than that one word, they look identical. I’m thinking of something like a big red “DEV” logo at the top ribbon next to OneStream XF or something similar to that.
Allocations in OS
Source: OneStream Champions Hi all! Do any of you run allocations in OS? Would you be able to share how you accomplish this? Currently we manually reallocate data that comes into our income statement accounts under one UD2 to two UD2s based on the percentage split of units (which is a stat account in OS). This is loaded as a balanced journal entry every month but I’m wondering if there’s a more efficient, less manual way to accomplish it. I tried reviewing OS academy, the design doc and golfstream and can’t find a good example of an allocation being run. Would any of you have a suggestion? For a simple allocation like this, would you recommend a CV form to allocate or would the Allocation journal entry type work better? Or maybe it’s a formula on the UD2 member itself that triggers the allocation? I’ve also submitted a support ticket but was thinking that maybe some customer experience would be useful too.
Using Cell detail in cube view ,forms and reports
Hello Few of questions on using cell details 1. How can we add different classifications for data entry via cell details ? I have created dashboard parameter for same , however its not reflecting in respective cube view or form. 2. Is there any existing report for displaying cell details ? 3. Correct syntax for function - BRApi.Dashboards.Parameters.GetLiteralParameterValue , unfortunately sample code is not working Thanks JA
Hybrid Source Scenarios - Additional Documentation / Details
One of the new features in the 6.6 release is the introduction of Hybrid Source Scenarios. I've watched the 6.6 release and read through the abbreviated examples in the admin guide. Both have good high level content, but they seem to be missing details around the Options section within the Hybrid Source Data of Scenario properties. Does anyone have any additional details around what options are available and a description of each? Or more content around Hybrid Source scenarios in general? OneStream Administrator Security Role
Hi All, I am very new into the OneStream world. Wondering for those OneStream Functional Administrators out there, do you have the “Administrator” role or it is just for the IT team? I have been a techno and functional guy in the HFM world for many years, so I am not used to lose the admin rights. Just want to see whether it is a common practice out there that I need to adjust. OneStream Excel Enhancement Requests
Hello, Our Organization is currently going through a Planning implementation of OneStream. We have provided a list of enhancement requests to OneStream that we feel would significantly improve the products reporting capabilities. Here is a list of the enhancement requests submitted. I am posting with hope that other customers would also benefit from these enhancements and reach out to OneStream directly to also request this functionality! You can also like ("Kudos") this post. 1. Drill Down within XFGetCell Function. (This was something that came up a lot at Splash when discussing with other customers) 2. Retain excel formatting when refreshing quick views 3. Ability to utilize the member description to pull quick views or XF functions (Today you can only user member name) 4. “Hardcode” the default Quick View POV when creating a new quick view (Users are required to retype their defaults when sending a report to a user otherwise the data could change depending on the other users POV settings) 5. Option for a Default “Member Expansion” that will only pull parent members (Subtotals). This would be helpful when drilling or creating reports
